Fr. Gregory Gay Re-elected as Superior General

Fr. Gay was re-elected Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission. He will serve a second 6 year term through 2016. Since he was one short of the required majority after the second ballot it required a third quick ballot. Pope: Be More Radical in Following Christ

VATICAN CITY, JUNE 27, 2010 (Zenit.org).- On the last Sunday of the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart, Benedict XVI invited the faithful to be more willing and radical in responding to a call from Christ. The Pope made these comments today in a short address before praying the midday Angelus with crowds gathered in St. Peter's Square, which he dedicated to the theme of "Christ's call and its demands."

For the fifth year in succession, the Vincentian's hosted a day on Vincentian Spirituality. As usual, it was held in All Hallows College and, this year, the speaker was the Superior General of the Daughters of Charity, Sr Evelyne Franc DC.

Superior General introduces Depaul International

I am writing to introduce and commend the work of Depaul International, a group of charities founded and grounded in the Vincentian spirit, working with homeless and disadvantaged people around the world. Currently Depaul International has subsidiary charities in the UK, Ireland (including Northern Ireland), Slovakia, Ukraine and the USA, with plans to expand into other countries when invited and when resources allow.
